Moomba Festival, Program Director 2011–2015

Attracting 1.25 million visitors to Melbourne's riverfront.

The Moomba Festival is Australia’s longest running community festival. Held along Yarra River, it attracts 1.25 million visitors over the March long weekend.

As the Program Director, Ros’s aim is to position Moomba amongst the national summer festivals and spread awareness of the program nationally. She has developed the festival by redesigning the site layout and repositioning the program. She has complemented the traditional favourites – the birdman rally, water skiing, fireworks and carnival – with an innovative children’s program, an expanded music line-up, and opening and closing night events.

She works collaboratively to present quality community-based programming and to facilitate avenues for local artists to participate in this major event, giving them exposure to large audiences and a professionally managed event experience.

The 2012 festival was awarded the Australian Event Awards – Coates Hire Best Community Event.
