Darebin Homemade Food and Wine Festival 2016

Celebrating food traditions and sustainable practice

I am engaged to research the Darebin Homemade Food and Wine Festival and to present a strategic plan for bringing together community celebration through art, culture, craft and food, specifically the Meet the Makers event. The week-long Darebin Homemade Food and Wine Festival  features workshops, seminars, demonstrations and special events, culminating in the ‘meet the makers’ showcase.”

A growing body of research over the last decade has focused on the relation between arts projects and community celebrations and the strengthening effect they have on local communities through the enhancing of community identities, their economic and social development, health and wellbeing. Through community and stakeholder consultation I am working with the Darebin City Council to provide opportunities for cross-cultural and intergenerational exchange - to celebrate food traditions and sustainable food practices.
